Probe Room
You can enter the 'Probe Room' whenever you want to, but weather you have any probes in the probe room is a different story, you will first need to construct probe silos (see the 'Space Stations' page of this help site for more information) to store your probes in. Probe silos can hold up to 100 probes each, and will also produce 1 probe every revolution, unless you have robotic probe factory's researched (see the 'Research' page of this help site for more information), after which you will gain x1.5 probes per probe sile, per rev (see the space station page of this help site for the probe income formulas).
Once you enter the probe room, you basically have two options, you can either build probes, this is instant, and will cost you 400 money, 250 deterium and 200 power per probe, or you can send your probes on a probe mission.
You can have a maximum of 15 probe attempts at any one time, this will go up to 20 when you research probe power savers (see the research page of this help site for more information), you will gain 1 probe mission every revolution unless you have hit your maximum (15 or 20).
