Messages

Sending a Message:

There are two ways to send a player a message.

The first way to send a player a message is to go to the 'Message User' page. At the very top of this page you will see two small boxes, in these boxes you will need to put in the co-ordinates of the player that you wish to message (x = system, y = sector), once you have entered these co-ordinates, you will need to click the locate button to to take you to the players sector, once this has been done, you will have to select the player that you wish to message from the send to drop down menu, the final thing that you will have to do is write your message, and click the transmit button button to send the message to the player.

The second way to send a message is to click on a players name, there are a few places that this can be done. The first place is by going to the sector that the player is in, this can be done via the 'Your Sector' page, the second place is via that 'Strongest Member' list, the third place is via the 'Largest Member' list, these two lists can be found on the scores page, the final place is via the 'Members Online' link located in the sector forums, system forums and galaxy forums. Once you have click the players name, you will be taken to the 'Message User' page, you will be taken to the players sector automatically, and there name will already be selected on the send to drop down menu, so all you will have to do is write your message and send it via the transmit button. It is worth noting, that there are a few other places that you can select a players name, but these places are bugged, and will not take you to the players location, and therefore wont select the players name from the drop down menu, so I will not mention them here.

Receiving a Message:

When you have a new message you should see a yellow number in brackets next to the message inbox link on the menu bar, the number in these brakets will tell you how many new message you have, to view these messages you must simple click on the message inbox link, for example, if you have two new messages you will see (2) on the left hand side of the message inbox link.

Reporting a Message:

If you feel that someone has send you an abusive message, or that someone has sent you a message that implies they have broken a rule you can report it to a moderator via the 'Report' button next to the message. Reporting the message will give the moderator a chance to read through it, and take the necessary action towards the player who sent the message. The 'Report' button on the other hand should not be used to report BOT messages (messages sent from a user from the system (16:X)), or any message that is not actually breaking a rule or abusive towards you, this can get yourself locked.

You must also remember that when you click the 'Report' button, you must click the 'Confirm Report' button, this will confirm that you are reporting the message to the moderators, if this button is not clicked, then the report will not be confirmed and no action can be taken.

Extra Information:

Below the name of the person you wish to message there are three options which you can use in your message, these are explained below.

"B" stands for bold, this will make any text inside of the [b][/b] tags look like this - BOLD.
"I" stands for italic, this will make any text inside of the [i][/i] tags look like this - ITALIC.
"U" stands for underline, this will make any text inside of the [u][/u] tags look like this - UNDERLINE.
