In here you will find a glossary of ShadowOps terms, including the abbreviated version of the word, the full word, and a description on what it is. Enjoy.

Word:KadanatorA.K.A:Kad(s)
Description
These ships are used usually used at the beginning of the round, and throughout the round until stronger ships have been researched, usually freedoms. Kadanators have an offence of 10, a defence of 7, and are worth 27 networth each. These ships tend to be used by players and play types that wish to attack often, this is because they have the best crew to attack power ratio until freedoms.



Word:LithinatorA.K.A:Lith(s)
Description
These ships are used usually used at the beginning of the round, and throughout the round until stronger ships have been researched, usually freedoms. Lithinators have an offence of 7 , a defence of 10, and are worth 26 networth each. These ships tend to be used by players and play types that do not wish to attack often, this is because they have the best crew to defence power ratio until freedoms.



Word:Heavy KadanatorA.K.A:H kad(s)
Description
Some players prefer to build these instead of kadanators if they have started late in the round, and carry on building them throughout the round until stronger ships have been researched, usually freedoms. Heavy kadanators have an offence of 15, a defence of 10, and are worth 37 networth each.



Word:Heavy LithinatorA.K.A:H lith(s)
Description
Some players prefer to build these instead of lithinators if they have started late in the round, and carry on building them throughout the round until stronger ships have been researched, usually freedoms. Heavy lithinators have an offence of 10, a defence of 15, and are worth 36 networth each.



Word:IndependanceA.K.A:Indie(s)
Description
These are the strongest fighter in ShadowOps. Everyone should be aiming to research these as soon as possible, as they provide the best crew to attack power, and the best crew to defence power ratio in game. Independences have an offence of 20, a defence of 20, and are worth 45 networth each.



Word:FreedomsA.K.A:Free(s)
Description
These are the strongest starship in ShadowOps. Everyone should be aiming to research these as soon as possible, as they provide the best crew to attack power, and the best crew to defence power ratio in game. Freedoms have an offence of 42, a defence of 42, and are worth 110 networth each.



Word:NetworthA.K.A:NW
Description
Networth is used to rank you in ShadowOps, the higher your networth is, the higher your rank will be, can you make it onto the top 100 list ?



Word:Play TypeA.K.A:PT
Description
There are six different play types in ShadowOps, these are, attacker, standard, explorer, economist, miner and researcher, you must pick one of these six when you create your account. Each play type has its own advantages and disadvantages (see the play types page of this help site for more information.



Word:DeteriumA.K.A:Detty
Description
Deterium is produced by deterium mines and deterium makers (as long as they are online), the miner play type is the only play type to have a positive bonus in deterium production (+150%), because fo this miners tend to be the only play type to produce deterium. Deterium is one of the three must have resources to ShadowOps, without deterium, it is impossible to grow. Deterium is often a rare material, and will usualy sell well on the black market.



Word:ResidenceA.K.A:Res
Description
Residence are used to build and store your residence, they can be built via the space stations page. 1 residence can hold up to 100 population.



Word:PopulationA.K.A:Pop
Description
Population is very important in ShadowOps. Population can be used to build scientists for research and crew to man your ships, if your population goes below 20, you will die. You will also gain 4 extra credits per rev for each population you have.



Word:RevolutionA.K.A:Rev
Description
Revolutions are used to determine how long it takes to do things in ShadowOps. For instance, you recieve money, deterium, power and population income every rev, revs are also used to determine how long it takes to build ships, missiles, and to build, and build on platforms, as well as various other things in ShadowOps.



Word:System CommanderA.K.A:SC
Description
Every sector leader has the opportunity to vote for a system commander (only sector leaders can be voted as a system commander). The system commander will be in charge of your system, and other duties such as, who is on the system council, setting the system tax, and creating alliances and non aggression pacts (NAP's), they also have full access to the trade and command room without a password, as well as the ability to change the trade and command room passwords. Always make sure you choose a reliable player to be your system commander. The system commander will also gain a 20% attack and defence bonus.



Word:Vice System CommanderA.K.A:VSC
Description
The vice system commander is elected by the system commander (anyone in the system can be a vice system commander). The vice system commander will have access to the trade room, and the command room, so long as they have the password to each room, this is set by the system commander. The vice system commander will also gain a 15% attack and defence bonus.



Word:Sector LeaderA.K.A:SL
Description
Every sector member has the chance to vote for their sector leader. The sector leader is in charge of the sector, has the chance to vote for a system commander, has the ability to elect a vice sector leader, and also has full access to the sector treasury. The sector leader will also gain a 10% attack and defence bonus.



Word:Vice Sector LeaderA.K.A:VSL
Description
The vice sector leader is elected by the sector leader. The vice sector leader has full access to the sector treasury, as well as a 5% attack and defence bonus.



Word:New PlayerA.K.A:Noob or Noobie
Description
A noob is a player that doesn't know anything about the game, be nice to them, and help them if you can, because everyone is a noob at some point.



Word:Sellable Research PointsA.K.A:SRP
Description
Sellable research points are arguably the best thing to invest your scientists into, the reason for this is simple, there is no limit to the amount of sellable research points you can have. For example, if you place your scientists onto a particular research task, for instance EMP missiles, once your scientists have completed this task they will just sit around doing nothing until you assign them a new task to research, but if your scientists are placed onto the sellable research points task, you will get srp's every rev, which you will be able to use to complete your research tasks, this way your scientists are always 100% effective.



Word:Interceptor MissileA.K.A:IM(s)
Description
You will need 1-3 interceptor missiles to stop 1 user missile (emp missile or deterium missile), it is worth noting that these missiles can be donated to the sector treasury only, and therefore cannot be used to protect the system against system missiles.



Word:Advance Interceptor MissileA.K.A:AIM(s)
Description
You will need 1 advanced interceptor missile to stop 1 user missile, these missiles can be donated to the system treasury, and are the only defence againse system missiles, although it will take 2 advance interceptor missiles to stop 1 system missile.



Word:PlatformsA.K.A:Plats
Description
Platforms are used to build space stations on, you can gain platforms through 1 of 3 ways, explore for them, attack other players and BOTS for them, or buy them off of the black market.



Word:ModeratorA.K.A:Mod
Description
Moderators are used to make sure that players do not break any rules, you can tell if a player is a moderator because their name will be orange when they post on the forums or send you a message. Moderators have the ability to lock players who have broken the rules.
